Located just outside Beaumont in Fannett, TX, First Baptist Church of Fannett is a Bible-centered community. We firmly believe salvation from sin is by grace alone (John 3, 6, Eph. 1:4; 2:8-10), through faith alone (Gal. 2:15-3:14), in Christ alone (Romans 3:21-26), according to Scripture alone (2 Tim. 3:16-17), to the glory of God alone (Romans 11:36, 1 Cor. 10:31, Eph. 1:13-14). We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.
In accordance with the Great Commission, we are devoted to the proclamation of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Our ministry extends from the individual to the collective, endeavoring to extend the reach of salvation's promise to all mankind (Matt. 28:18-20)
We believe that the church unites all ages in a covenantal service under Christ's sovereign lordship, reflecting the church as God's covenant family (1 Cor 12:12-13, 1 Peter 2:9-10). At First Baptist Church of Fannett, we cherish the family and are rooted in Scripture's call to train all generations (Deut. 6:6-7).
Our church is an elder-led, deacon-served, and congregational voting church. We desire to be faithful to the biblical definition of how a church should function under the lordship of Christ. Christ gave the leadership structure (1 and 2 Timothy, Titus, and 1 Peter) for the strength and health of the church through overseeing, discipling, shepherding, and serving the congregation.
