Pastor - Robert D. "Scooter" Wenner
Brother Scooter came to First Baptist Church Fannett in late 2000 as interim pastor. After serving as interim for two years he became pastor, serving bi-vocationally until September 2010 when the church called him as full-time pator. Brother Scooter is a native to Beaumont having graduated from Beaumont-Charlton Pollard High School in 1977. He received his BA degree in Church Administration from East Texas Baptist College, Marshall, Texas in 1980. Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary, Fort Worth, Texas awarded him the MDiv degree in 1984.
Brother Scooter has served churches in Louisiana, Texas, and Michigan in roles from Minister of Youth to Pastor.
He married the former Elisabeth "Liz" Long in 1980. They have three children. Their daughters are Sarah and her husband, Brandon, and Lindsey, and her husband, Robert. They have one son, Bryce, who attends Lamar University. They are the proud grandparents of a grandson, Tatum, and two granddaughters, Londyn and Brylee.
Brother Scooter enjoys golf, skeet shooting, scuba diving, and motorcycling.
Youth Minister - Bryce Wenner
Bryce joined the staff of First Baptist Church in June 2011. He is a student at Lamar University in Beaumont.
Bryce enjoys a host of activities including indoor and outdoor football (soccer), rock climbing, scuba diving, and long boarding.
In addition to his contributions as Youth Minister, Bryce plays guitar in the church's praise band.
Interim Worship Leader - Dwayne Oxner
Dwayne grew up in Arkansas and graduated from Barton High School, which is best known for the legacy of long time head football coach, Frank McClellan, who led the Bears to win 8 state championships and a total of 367 games. Dwayne also has degrees from the University of Arkansas at Monticello (B.S. in Accounting) and Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary (M.A.R.E.). Dwayne and his wife, Karen, have two beautiful daughters, Anna Beth and Allie Rae.
